Natural Horsemanship
A Natural Horseman has "savvy." Savvy is knowing when to be, where to be, why to be, and what to do when you get there. If you have savvy, you know how to be safe, confident, and excellent with horses, and help horses achieve safety, confidence, and excellence.
A Natural Horseman has savvy in each of the four areas of horsemanship; called the "Four Savvys." Two of these are on the ground, and two are on the horse's back:
ON THE GROUND
1. On Line (communicating with lines of different lengths)
2. Liberty (no equipment on the horse; in a round corral at first)
ON THE HORSE'S BACK
3. FreeStyle (riding with loose reins; ultimately bareback & bridleless)
4. Finesse (riding with short reins; doing precise maneuvers or riding with collection)

There are 6 Keys to Natural Horsemanship:
Attitude
Knowledge
Tools
Techniques
Time
